Obituary of William "Willi" John WISNIEWSKI

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Willi Wisniewski, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Willi passed away peacefully with Madeleine, his wife of 56 years, at his side on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the age of 79 at the Rosedale Hospice after enduring a fifteen year battle with cancer. Willi will also be lovingly remembered by son Dan(Jane) of Barrie, ON; daughter Carole (Bob) Westlake; son Ed (Marlene); daughter Claire (Russ) Kelly of Penticton, BC; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters (Helen and Irene and their families). After immigrating to Canada at the age of 17, Willi embarked on a career in the construction industry. Willi will be fondly remembered for his significant contribution to the design techniques and building of various bridges in Calgary and throughout North America. Through these challenging projects, Willi became a well respected and trusted Consultant. Upon retirement, Willi and Madeleine enjoyed travelling to numerous places in their motor home or flying to their destination. Those wishing to pay their respects were able to do so at Heritage Funeral Home, 1708-16 Ave. NW on Monday, December 27, 2010 between 6:00 8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass was celebrated at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church, 835 Northmount Dr. NW on Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 at 11:00 A.M.
