Lois VYE

Obituary of Lois Virginia VYE

Lois passed away at Cedars Villa after a long illness. Lois was born in Tacoma Washington, but lived most of her youth in Choteau, Montana. In 1948 she met Lester Ralph Vye, they were soon married and moved to Alberta. They settled in Calgary and raised a family. Lois and Lester founded a small oil consulting firm, Vye Exploration in 1966. In addition to her family, one the biggest thrills of Lois life came in 1959, when the Queen, on one of her walk abouts suddenly stopped and had a brief chat with Lois. It was likely the only time in her life she was speechless! She is lovingly remembered by her son, Sam Vye of Calgary; her granddaughter Gillian Cardwell (Mark); great grandchildren Alexandra and Colby of Cochrane and her son-in-law Merrill Grant. Lois was predeceased by her husband Lester; daughter Susan Grant, and her brother Charles Hallberg of Choteau, Montana. At Lois request, there will be no Funeral Services held. The family will gather privately in her honour. Lois will be buried in Queens Park Cemetery at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Choteau Lions Club Pool Fund, in memory of Lois Vye, P.O. Box 617, Choteau, MT 59422 USA.
