Obituary of David TAYLOR
David Taylor of Calgary passed away peacefully at the George Boyack Carewest Centre on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the age of 79 years. David was born in Madden and spent his early years in the Crossfield-Didsbury area. In 1955 he moved with his mother Agnes to Calgary where David was a bicycle delivery boy, and he especially loved to tell stories about some of these experiences. David served his country by enrolling in the Royal Canadian Navy and travelled all over the world during this time. After his days in the Navy, David settled in Calgary where he held various bookkeeping positions, including the Salvation Army Mens Hostel. David married Catherine Smith in August of 1975. They were a wonderful, loving, sweet couple until Catherines sudden passing in September 2002. David missed and grieved for his soulmate for the rest of his life. As a couple they cared for many people, especially his mother Agnes. David was a gentle man, in every sense of the word, and was a true gentleman as well. David lived the last two and a half years at the Carewest George Boyack long term facility. David is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine in 2002 and his mother, Agnes in 2010. David will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in Peace.
A Memorial Service was held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. We would like to thank the staff and residents of the Carewest George Boyack for their compassionate care for David in these last few years.
