Condolences
Hello My name is Mary... today i was going through my christmas bins and came across my christmas village.. This village was given to me by Laverne when I lived in Olds.. I referred to her as the 'Landlady from above".. She was very dear to me.. I worked in the office below her home.. we became very good friends and she took me under her wings when I really needed a friend.. She supported my Irish husband to become a Cdn Citizen.. She shared many of her dolls with my girls, we visited her a few times when she lived in Airdire.. She made many baby clothes for our new daughter Madison, born 3/00...I managed to see her a few more times after she moved in the nursing home.. So today upon thinking of her I am saddened I missed her passing, I wish someone would have thought to phone me,,, but then realizing it was completely up to me to keep in touch.. and now I mourn her passing silence.. remembering what a great lady she was.. We loved her dearly.. My sincere condolences to the family... with all of that said now.. back to the christmas village.. I am wondering if anyone would like the village..? please call me at 4038314183

Gail Bauman (and Vicki) Clare, Vicki and I were talking about your family just the other day so Vicki did an internet search and found the notice of your Mom's passing. As kids we always enjoyed the visits we had when your parents and our parents (Lorne and Bobby Bauman) got together. Your mother was so memorable and such an interesting character. And both your mother and father were really nice people. This note is late, but I could not pass up the opportunity to express my sympathy, and Vicki's too.
Dear Clare I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She will be missed - she was a larger than life character. I remember her dressing as a witch at a school Halloween function - she was truly scarey, she even had real chicken's feet in her bag of tricks! I also remember her as a decicated volunteer at the Olds Legion. She was fun, interesting and a great contributor to the community ( and your mom - her most important job!) You will miss her and I hope you find comfort in your memories of her. Love Mary
Clare my sincerest and deepest condolences to you (and all of your relatives)on the loss of your mother. Having spent quite a bit of time at your house while growing up, your mother came to mean a lot to me and was always there to give a lending hand when needed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I grew up with her sons Arden and Clare. I knew her to be a loving and caring parent and person! She will be missed but more importantly, Laverne will always be remembered!
Dear Clare So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I have fond memories of both your mom and dad being at our house while growing up. I know how dedicated they were to the Cadets. As I recall your mom was the life of the party on many occassions. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Yvonne
Deepest sympathy to Laverne's family on her passing. I have many fond memories of Laverne as she attended almost every cadet function I can remember when I was a cadet in the 80's. She was always up for a visit with current and former cadets. I also remember seeing her perform on several occasions with the Kitchen Band - she always looked as if she was having the time of her life.
