Obituary of Gwendolyn Grace NIELSEN

Gwen, as she was lovingly known as, passed away on July 27th in Calgary. Gwen was raised in the Handhills of Alberta and moved to Vancouver to raise her family. She moved back to Calgary in the 90's where she enjoyed gardening and loving stray animals that visited her place. She managed an apartment complex in south Calgary until her passing. She is survived by her children, Debra Kinar and Craig Nielsen of Vancouver; their families: son-in-law Mike Kinar, grandson Liam, daughter-in-law Lindsay Nielsen, granddaughter Anika, grandson Ty, sister Jean Holder of Victoria, nephew David of Okotoks, nieces Sharon of Rocky Mountain House, and Linda of Calgary. Gwen was predeceased by her mother Irene Broadbent, sister Marjorie Olsen, and nephew Donald Mammel. An informal Remembrance Lunch will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 2:00 p.m., in the park adjacent to Victoria Hall, 1302-6th Street S.E. Bring your favorite story of Gwen.
