Obituary of Werner Andreas MAHAU

Werner Mahau, a retired denturist, was born in Kortrijk, Belgium and passed away at the Agape Hospice, at the age of 90 years. Wanting to see Canada, in 1956 he walked from Montreal to Vancouver, and then on to California and Arizona; not accepting rides nor money, but food and shelter were acceptable. He marvelled at the hospitality he encountered during his walk, and this was a deciding factor in his decision to immigrate to Canada. In Calgary, he became a proud member of the Shriners, performing in parades and at the Alberta Childrens Hospital. Werner was most appreciative of his support group whom he referred to as The 4 Musketeers Albert, Larry, George and Ernie. He was predeceased by his only son David in Belgium. At Werners request no Funeral Services will be held.
