Obituary of Frank E. Lawson

Frank Lawson, dear father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Hospice, Calgary. Frank was a gentle man, a man of quiet courage, a dedicated husband and father. He was proud to serve with the Bank of Nova Scotia for over fifty years. Upon retirement, he volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society and was honoured for his contribution of over ten thousand hours of service. Frank loved being outdoors, walking along the ridge inVarsity, or hiking the trails in the mountains. He enjoyed acting as tour guide on his favourite island, Maui, and sharing the beauty of nature with his girls and their friends. Frank was a voracious reader, a baseball enthusiast, and was passionate about birds and flowers. Left to honour Franks spirit are his three daughters: Marilyn (Gilbert) Heise, Jan Oliver (Terry Gietz), Cheryl (Robert) Zadunayski; grandchildren: Claire (Jason) Kraatz, Warren Heise, Brent (Jill) Oliver, Tim (Chaeyoung) Oliver, Anna Zadunayski (Mike Mitchell), and Danielle Zadunayski; and his great-grandchildren: Emma, Avery, Milo, Rosalie and Graeme. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie, and great-granddaughter Natalie Mitchell. Funeral Services were held at Holy Cross Anglican Church (2828 - 19th Street N.W.) on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 325 Manning Rd.
