Obituary of Olga "Dolly" GLENDON

Dolly Glendon passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Dolly was born in Ramachaza, Hungary and immigrated to Canada as an infant with her parents and sister. The family settled in Tabor, AB where Dolly received her education and met and married the love of her life, Irvine. Dolly and Irvine began their married life on Vancouver Island and later returned to Alberta settling in Calgary. Upon retiring they moved to Duncan, BC where Dolly and Irvine operated a small farm for many years. Dollys greatest passion was to work in her garden. She had a green thumb and could grow many varieties of fruit, vegetables and flowers. Over the years Dolly received many awards for her gardening abilities. Most of all Dolly was a proud mother, and grandmother to her only grandson, Adam. Dolly is survived by her loving sons Dave and Robert; daughter-in-law Patricia; her grandson, Adam; sister, Elizabeth; brother, Les as well as by her daughter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Irvine and brothers Bill and Albert. Funeral Services will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 16th Avenue N.W. (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery.
