Obituary of John Steven GAVORA

John Gavora passed away on Friday, December 10, 2010 at the age of 74 years. John was born in Lethbridge, Alberta; he attended school at Diamond City, Alberta and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1961 with a degree in Civil Engineering. John was a recognized expert on design and engineering of both offshore and onshore pipelines and has worked on projects all over the world. John spoke fluent English and Slovak, loved life and lived every moment to its fullest. While he could easily be found at the local Swiss Chalet he shook hands with celebrities and royalty around the world. He was a humble man who loved his family and friends and is survived by his children Mark, David, Matthew and Geoffrey. A Memorial Service was held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
