Obituary of Phyllis Bernice GALLAGHER

Bernice passed away peacefully with her daughter and friend at her side. Bernice was born in Kamloops, BC and graduated from the Royal Inland Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She worked in nursing before retiring to raise her family. In 1958 the family moved to Calgary. She got her drivers license at age 40 and worked as a geological assistant in her late fifties. She was a woman of determination, conviction and flair. Family meant everything to her. She will be missed by her daughters Sandi (Michael) Greene and Kerri Gallagher (Mark Delannoy); her son Mike (Stella Peeace); five grandchildren: Scott Hutcheson, Kiel Knudsen, Keir Knudsen, Connor Schancel, Shelby Schancel; three great-grandchildren: Shea Hutcheson and Cooper and Jackson Knudsen. She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jim and son Murray. Memorial Services were held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) Monday, July 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Bernices name directly to The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and the Northwest Territories, Administrative Office, 10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton AB T5H 4K1.
