Obituary of Charles Robert "Bert" DARWENT

Robert Darwent of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the age of 40 years. Robert was born on the 18th of July 1970 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. He spent his younger years in the neighborhood of Rosedale and attended Crescent Heights High School. Robert was the proud and loving father of two beautiful children Daniel Robert Darwent and Brooke Sylvia Jane Darwent, and husband to Jemma Jones Darwent. He was a devoted and faithful son to his mother, Meena Myles. Robert was an enthusiastic collector of cars of all varieties and miscellaneous vehicle parts. Amongst his many accomplishments Robert was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, and found comfort and support through the meetings and the many friends he made there. Robert was a loved and loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, husband, father, uncle and friend to many. His pirate smile, quirky sense of humor, gentle spirit and limitless kindness will live on in the hearts of all of those blessed by his presence in their lives. Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, a Trust Fund has been set up for his children Daniel and Brooke Darwent though CIBC.
