Obituary of Frederick Hays

HAYS – Frederick August 31, 1938 – Blairemore, Alberta January 8, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta Fred, beloved husband of Bette (nee Brooks) of Calgary, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the age of 81 years. Fred had an adventurous spirit and a deep love of the outdoors. He was a dedicated and hardworking man. Fred’s career began in print, then sales, and then diversified to fine art when he acquired LaFlamme Galleries as a part owner. Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife Bette; sister Marion Tichler (Peter); children Wayne (Tammy), Gary (Donna), Brad (Shawna) and Darlene (Martin); grandchildren Ryan, Kaylie, Owen, Ava, Lucas, Maiya, Anya and Matt; and many nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents John and Ivy Hays. A Celebration of Life will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 – 16th Avenue NW (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) on Tuesday, January 21 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
