Obituary of Lorraine Anna May Morris

Lorraine, beloved wife of Kenneth Morris of Calgary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the age of 81 years. Lorraine was born in Calgary, Alberta on July 19, 1938. She attended school at Western Canada High. After school she worked in the meat department at Jenkins Groceteria. Lorraine and Ken were married in 1957 in Calgary. She became a stay at home mother. She liked to stay active in the Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association. She was a Brownie Leader as well as a Board Member helping to fund and develop the facility to the vibrant complex it is today. Lorraine was active in the Chestermere Lake Cabin Owners Association, organizing monthly dances at the old hall. A special joy was volunteering at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, photographing newborn babies for parents. When transferred to Edmonton with Ken, she was active in the Woodvale Community Association, organizing bingo which helped fund their new facility on the golf course. The Calgary Elks was another hi-lite with Ken and the Patrol Team members and wives. The Calgary Press Club was yet another hi-lite with life long friends making great memories! Besides her loving husband of 63 years Ken, Lorraine is survived by her daughters Kathryn (Gene) Dickau, Sheryl (Ron) Morris, and Deborah Morris; granddaughter Carla (Mark) Shierman, great-grandchildren Lydia and Marshall, brother Roy (Barbara) Berg; cousins Fred Paasche, Fred (Penny) Toone as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Holger and Vivian Berg; grandparents Fred and Mabel Paasche. At the family’s request they are respecting the wishes of Lorraine and there will be no public funeral service planned. The family would like to thank the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre in Claresholm Alberta, and Bethany Riverside Care Centre for their compassionate care of Lorraine in her final years with us. There’s a place in my heart that’s yours alone. A piece of love no other can own. For deep in my heart your memory is kept. To love you Lorraine and never forget. No words I speak could ever say how much I loved you every day. In loving memory till we meet again. Faithfully Ken.
