Obituary of Jean Michaleski

Jean Michaleski, beloved wife of the Late Walter Michaleski, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Jean spent most of her life in Dauphin, Manitoba and married Walter in 1951. They moved to High River, Alberta in 1997 to be closer to family, and then moved to Calgary in 2013. Jean was known for her great Ukrainian cooking, particularly for her perogies, and her endless energy. She would try everything and, to the delight of her family, produced feasts like no other. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was such an inspiration and mentor. She had such a gentle heart and worked so hard. Her smile would light up the room when she was with her family. Jean is survived by her five children, Angela (Darcy) Clarkson of Vancouver, BC, Bob (Michele) Michaleski, Pat (Bill) Hall, Marcie (Kim) Hubick and Karen (Dugald) MacKay all of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren, Carla and Ben Crowe, Jenny Michaleski and Chris Cornohos (Alenna and Alek), Missy Clarkson and Ed Pitt-Brooke (Arlo), Becca Clarkson, Colin and Nicole Brandt (Ryan), Kyle Hubick and Megg Burton (Oslo), Reid Hubick, Bryan Michaleski and Kaylee Michaleski. Jean is also survived by her sisters, Ann Bodnaruk of Vernon, BC and Sylvia (Jerry) Dutchyshen of Dauphin, MB. The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care provided by Dr. Albuquerque and staff at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary. A family celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
