Condolences
I am saddened to hear of the passing of Les Adler recently. He is a neighbour and rock club friend with an incredible memory of every fossil he encountered. His generosity in opening his home for rock hounds was a testament to his enthusiasm for passing on his knowledge of the geological timeline information. Educating others about rocks was his primary passion in his later years. Those who visited were often treated to a small concert of organ music, as he was happy to play a few songs, with great proficiency. Thank you so much Les, for being a dedicated member of the Calgary Rock and Lapidary Club, for so many years, and for sharing your enthusiasm with so many of us! You will be missed. Linda Broad-Kormos
My condolences to Les Adler's family and close friends. His knowledge was vast and shared freely to anyone who would listen. He will be missed.
Alan and Rodney,we're sorry to learn of Les passing away in December. Les was like a family member and during many visits he shared funny stories of his teaching career, extensive travels, humorous moments and occasional mishaps. His knowledge of geology and fossils was such that he mentored many enthusiasts in Alberta and elsewhere. He will be missed and it was our privilege to know him. Susan and Alex , former Calgarians.
