Obituary of Marie Helen Blanche Saunders

Marie Saunders, beloved wife of the late Charles Saunders of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the age of 93 years at her home at the Brentwood Care Centre. Marie was born in Lacombe, Alberta on September 21, 1927. She became a hairdresser and worked in Banff, Alberta, then married Charles and had four children. Marie loved cooking, going on road trips with Charles, gardening and especially sharing time with her family. Marie loved watching hockey, cheering on the Flames and knew all the player’s names and their jersey numbers. Marie will be most remembered as a very loving and caring person, being the ‘greatest’ mom ever to her children, grandchildren and all her extended family and friends. Marie is survived by her sons Gordon (Faith), Norm, and Grant (Bobbi); grandsons Ryan (Neda), Tanner, and Shawn; great grand daughters Mariah, Serena, Kristal, Ava and Layla. She was predeceased by her daughter Terry Lynn, her son Garth and other family members.
