Obituary of Stanislaw "Stan" Grzyb

Stanislaw beloved husband of the late Margaret Grzyb (nee Fordonska) of Lethbridge, AB, and loving husband of Krystyna Wagner passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021, at the age of 70 years. Stanislaw was born in Wola Batorska, Poland on October 3, 1950. He emigrated from Poland in 1986 to Greece and then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1987. Stan completed high school and went to trades school where he completed a certificate to become a machinist. He started working as an apprentice on the railroad. At age 19 he was enlisted in the navy where he served for three years and was stationed in Kolobrzeg, Poland. Shortly after, he met Margaret Fordonska. They married on July 14, 1973, and lived a happy life together for almost forty-two years. Stan was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church - Always turning to faith and prayer for guidance and help in every facet of his life. Stan accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his son and his accomplishments in academia. He supported all his son’s endeavors to accomplish career paths including moving the family to Kelowna and then Lethbridge. He did not forget about his close family, his mom Jozefa and brother Henry Grzyb. Always keeping in touch and worrying about their health and well-being. Often he was concerned about everyone’s health and how they were doing. Stan loved to work with his hands and was good at pretty much everything he set his mind to, from woodworking to working on cars. He loved to go fishing and mushroom picking. He also had a passion for cooking and making delicious meals for others. Having a natural green thumb, he enjoyed growing and nurturing various plants. Which was a semblance of the way he looked after his relationships with the people and animals in his life. Stan’s most memorable vacation was when he went to Hawaii with his family for the first time in the 1990s. He will be most remembered for his funny sense of humor, interesting and knowledgeable conversations on different topics, and his bright white hair and mustache. Stan is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Wojciech (Amanda), and his grand-daughter Sophie Grzyb of Calgary, AB; his beloved wife Krystyna and her two sons Adam (Marta) and Jakub (Agnes) and her grandchildren (Phillip, Julia, Maja, Chelsea, and Hannah). Stan is also survived by his mother Jozefa Grzyb; and his brother Henry Grzyb of Ottawa, Ontario; as well as his closest friends, which he immigrated to Canada with; Stan (Jadwiga) and his two sons (Zbigniew and Marek with families) and Stan (Margaret) and his son (David).
