Obituary of Adam Piotr REBISZ

May 19, 1969 – Mielec, Poland

 

September 3, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Adam Rebisz, beloved husband of Jolanta Rebisz (nee Burghardt) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the age of 52 years.

 

Adam was born in Mielec, Poland on May 19, 1969. When he was 18 years old, he immigrated to Italy, where he married the love of his life, Jolanta, the following year. They both immigrated to Canada in 1990, with their nine-month-old son David. They lived in Red Deer for the first nine years, where Adam began his career as a heavy truck driver. During that time, their daughter Amy was born. In 1999, Adam, together with his family, moved to Calgary where he lived the remainder part of his life.

 

Adam was full of life, love, and laughter. He loved having people around, and always made sure that everyone had a good time. He was a very outgoing person and enjoyed time being spent outdoors. Depending on the time of the year, you could find him picking mushrooms in the forests, fishing by nearby ponds or lakes, skiing down mountain slopes, or camping with loved ones and friends. He had a great sense of humour and was always making others around him laugh. His soul was fueled by music which could be seen on the dance floor. His dancing skills were on another level and admired by everyone who was lucky enough to witness it. Adam had a gift that many others could not relate to. A gift for connecting with people.

 

Adam is survived by his wife Jolanta of 33 years, his son David Rebisz, his daughter Amy Rebisz, his mother Irena Rebisz, his two brothers, Darek Rebisz, and Wiesiek (Judy) Rebisz. Adam was predeceased by his father Marian Rebisz.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 – 16th Avenue NW (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) on Thursday, September 9, 2021. at 8:00 p.m.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery (3219 4th Street NW, Calgary) on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 12:30 pm.
