Heaven is getting more precious every day.

Norman Bryan Bullivant was born on September 26, 1941, in Calgary, AB. Bryan (as he was known to his friends and family) passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on February 22, 2023, in Calgary, AB. He is now in Heaven with the Lord, Jesus Christ, and in pain no more.

Bryan met his wife, Jackie, on a blind date, where they fell deeply in love. They were married December 1, 1962, and were blessed with 60 years of marriage. They have a daughter, Rhonda, and a son, Chris.

Bryan was a lover of technology, earning his Communications Electrician diploma from S.A.I.T. then immediately began his 33-year career with Alberta Government Telephone and Telus. Throughout his career, he was transferred to different cities within Canada including Edmonton, Red Deer, and Ottawa where he continued to climb the corporate ladder until he became upper-level management. He was highly regarded as a manager as he was kind and always put people first.

Bryan was filled with love and compassion, so he volunteered for many years with Teen Challenge fixing things around the ranch and the Bargain Barn but was soon asked to be the Chairman of the Board. A role he took very seriously. He was an exemplary man that made a great impact on the troubled youth.

Bryan was an extremely talented woodworker making many beautiful items such as solid oak rocking horses for his grandchildren, trays, meticulously decorated bird houses, TV tables and many more items that his family will cherish for generations.  It gave him such joy to build beautifully hand-crafted items for his family – he would always put a brass plaque on his art commemorating the year he made it, the occasion and of course a “Love, Bryan” or “Love, Dad”.

When he wasn’t in the woodshop, Bryan could be found either in the kitchen or at the barbeque. He loved to cook and barbeque! He was also a voracious reader and loved nothing better than a well written story. Some of his other hobbies included golfing, fishing, camping, entertaining and taking long road trips.

Bryan was a kind and loving man who always put his family and friends first. You could call him any time day or night and he would be there to help. He took great pride in supporting his family especially his wife, Jackie. He was known for his love of making people smile and his loud, infectious laugh.

He is survived by a loving family, his wife Jackie Bullivant (nee Snidal) and his children, Rhonda Murray (nee Bullivant) and Chris Bullivant of Calgary, AB., son-in-law Danny Murray of Calgary, AB., brother Gordon Bullivant of Calgary, AB., and sister Betty Bullivant of Calgary, AB.

He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Luke Brinton, Bryan Bullivant of Calgary, AB., Kyle Brinton Of Elgin, ON., Karlie Bullivant of Cochrane, AB., Victoria Bullivant and Christopher Bullivant of Calgary, AB., his three  granddaughters in-law, Amber Brinton of Elgin, ON., Kendell Martin and Amanda Swanson of Calgary, AB., grandsons in-law Mitchell Shier of Cochrane, AB., Thomas Rassin of Calgary, AB., his two great grandchildren, Greyson Brinton and Veronica Brinton of Elgin, ON.
