Obituary of Alena Victoria Lakha

LAKHA, Alena Victoria

February 21, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Those we have held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever.

Our beautiful baby girl, Alena Victoria, was born still at 9:25 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, AB to loving parents, Kristen Wishlow and Feisal Lakha.  She weighed 4lbs 6oz and measured 17.7 inches at 32 weeks.

From day one, Alena was an absolute blessing to her parents and their extended family. She was the miracle baby they had longed for and with lots of excitement surrounding her arrival.

Alena is greatly loved by her parents, as well as her grandparents, Jerry and Judy Wishlow of Saskatoon SK and Aziz and Yasmin Lakha of Calgary AB; her aunts and uncles Tara (Pedee) Wishlow of Saskatoon SK, Fareen (Gary) Chartrand of Calgary AB, and Janelle Wishlow of Regina SK; and her cousins Cale Reddekopp, Liberty Reddekopp, Cameron Chartrand and Oksana Bird; and of course her furry dog siblings who were patiently waiting at home for her arrival: Ike, Tilly, Zoe and Ziva.

Now she watches over us as our guardian angel with dog siblings Vin and Roman, as well as many family members that predeceased her.

We would like to thank all our family and friends who have supported us during our journey to parenthood, shared in our happiness, and now grieve with us.

We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Rockyview General Hospital who took care of us from day one when we entered triage, through labour and delivery and our postpartum care. They all have been so wonderful during such a hard time in our lives.

A private family viewing is being held on March 7, 2023, followed by a private cremation service. A public celebration for Alena will be announced at a later date. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
