Obituary of James Edward Le Gresley

February 25, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of James Le Gresley on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at the age of 89 years.

He was predeceased by his beautiful wife Patricia (nee Ryan) in 2010 and his wonderful daughter Debbie in 2021. He is survived by his youngest daughter, Lilly (Brett); his two amazing granddaughters who easily became his focus in life, Amanda (Quinton) and Kathleen; and his son-in-law, Robert. He was born in Gaspé, Quebec, and was sadly predeceased by his parents, William and Emmeline Le Gresley, along with all eight of his siblings.

He was an amazing man who lived a life of integrity, honesty and care, and who had the back of each and every one of his loved ones. He had a successful career with Air Canada spanning over 35 years, which he loved and spoke of often.

Our kind gentle man, you will be missed beyond belief. We take comfort knowing you are with the ones you love and have missed over the years. You had a lifetime of achievements that could take up pages, but being an amazing husband, father and grandpa is all you cared about, and you most certainly achieved that!

We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to James' neighbors, Sylvia and Dennis, for their friendship, sincere caring and never-ending support given to Jimmy and his family. Many thanks to Dr. Yolanda Kao at the Foothills Hospital; her level of care and compassion was a godsend.

To the staff at Wentworth Manor, Court West, thank you. My Dad adored all of you and I appreciate the time you spent getting to know him and the care you provided.
