Obituary of Jean Dianne Groves

Jean Dianne Groves (nee Bailey) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully, with the love of her family surrounding her, on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the age of 74 years.

Jean was born in Rolla, North Dakota in 1948 to Harvey and Hulda Bailey. She was the youngest of four daughters and was doted on by her older sisters, Judy, JoAnn and Janice. Jeannie (as she was affectionately known) graduated from Rolla High School and attended the University of North Dakota to pursue a degree in Speech and English Education. She met her husband Ian Pullen while visiting JoAnn and Nick in Canada and they married in 1969. Together they had three children, Sage, Jennifer and Scott. Jean always said her true calling was to be a mother and she thoroughly enjoyed raising her children.  Jean married the love of her life, Donald Groves in 1991, and together they shared their life with their beloved dog Bailey. Jean also loved knitting, painting, music and singing. 

Jean is survived by her children, Sage McIntosh (Eddie), Jennifer Pullen (Tiko), Scott Pullen (Nicole); grandchildren, Emerald, Daniel, Logan and Isabella; and her sisters; Judy Foley, JoAnn Perrin (Nick), and Janice Proctor (Jim); as well as many family members and friends. Jean was predeceased by her husband Don and her parents, Harvey and Hulda Bailey.

A Private Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
