Condolences
Ivan and I were pals in school together and we hung around with each other for awhile = we were friends = he was a great guy,I have good memories of him,I am sorry he's gone.R.I.P. old buddy,Fred. Blufarb.
I would like to pass on my condolences to all of Ivan’s family, extended family and his many, many friends. I had the pleasure (at times lol) of living with Ivan for a few years in the early 80’s (1019 13th ave). Still to this day I have great, funny and fond memories of our time with him. I haven’t seen Ivan in quite some time, but my heart aches for your loss. I would like to give a big cheers to our crazy, silly, foolish and funny as hell old friend. RIP buddy.
Dear Donna, step children and extended family, pleas except my heartfelt and sincere condolences on the recent passing of Ivan. As with just about everyone,we too were shocked and saddened to hear this news.where does one start.Who didn't know Ivan. From the East Coast to the West Coast and no doubt somewhere in between, somebody knew him.My Mother I'm sure finally has it straight his name is Ivan, not Alvin, and there is no doubt in my mind, they tossed one back on that final clarification I could ramble on but I wont do that to you,I wish there was more I could do but do know that you are being thought of,do take care of yourself, cherish the memories,Lord knows you both made a ton of them, thank you for the outings we had in Calgary,it was always a blast, and remember this,he will always be with you, this I know for sure, maybe him and David can take in a few games at the Dome. Sincerely,Gerard and Jesannette(Morrison) MacIntyre
My deepest condolences to Donna and family for your loss of Ivan. Ivan was my neighbor on 13 Ave SW in Downtown Calgary in the 1980s. We had lively times riding our mountain bikes and hosting parties at his house and mine. Ivan convinced me to apply to the City of Calgary Parks where he worked and I enjoyed 32 years there until I retired in 2020. I always enjoyed running into Ivan at work and hearing his funny stories. Always a happy fellow. As he would often say "Full Throttle What". The world will miss you bud. Rest in Peace!
Dear Donna
I am so sorry to hear of Ivan’s passing, you and him had a once in a lifetime relationship.Sending a big hug
You will be in my thoughts and prayers

RIP buddy your loss was a shock to all. My heartfelt condolences Donna.
My condolences to all of Ivan"s family and friends. Ivan was a "character" and as we both worked the Friday to Sunday shift at Parks, I have many humorous memories. Always a pleasure to see him roll into Princes Island Park.
Specials thoughts to Donna.
My prayers to the family as this character was certainly unforgettable, very sorry for this loss.
I had the pleasure of working with Ivan at Stanley Park for the Calgary Park department early in my career and he sure made me feel welcomed and always found away to break the ICE and make anyone feel welcome. He had the name around the depot as The Notorious Ivan and had the biggest lunch bag I have ever seen.
One day, think it was a day off for him, I saw him and Donna sitting having a picnic under the shade of the poplars trees. This is how I will hold you in my memory and thank you for all your friendly gestures and kind words. May you be at peace, dear sir.
Much love from Steve and Tracy
I had the pleasure of meeting my uncle Ivan once, I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts and Prayers are with you and the Buchanan family.
Hugs
Sandra, Leonard and Family
I am so sorry to hear of Ivan's passing. Most of us who were born in the late 1950's, grew up in North Sydney and had our formative years in the 1970's knew Ivan. I have loads of memories of Ivan. He was a likeable and loveable friend and a true character. He was always smiling and cheerful. Hanging around the corner stores, parking lots and making our way around town was never boring when Ivan was there. He was a good guy.
My sincere condolences to Donna and the Buchanan family.
