Leslie Ayers of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the age of 57 years

Leslie was born in Edmonton, AB to Tom and Shirley Ayers on October 26, 1965. She lived in Windsor, ON for many years, where she attended high school. Later, she completed a degree in film studies at Queens University in Kingston, ON. After graduation, Leslie moved to Vancouver to work in the film industry. She moved to Calgary in 2002 to be closer to family. Here she had an eclectic career, working in many different fields from healthcare to automotive parts distribution.  Leslie had the good fortune to travel the world and she met many kindred spirits along the way including special friends, Marlene, Val, Jill, Maggie and Bec.

Leslie will be remembered by brothers, Gordon (Deb) and Chris (Sarah); sister Catherine Tait (Len); nieces, Gillian (Dennis), Sheilah, and Naomi; nephews Chris (Rosanna), William (Kodi), Graham (Ashlea) and Lowell (Melissa); and a growing number of grand-nieces and -nephews.

We thank the many angels of care who helped Leslie during her two-year battle: Dr. Safiya Karim, oncology nurse Sandra Whalen, Dr. Antoine Bouchard-Fortier, Dr. Tara Pickering, pastor Kristy Gauld Dyer and the exceptional nurses on Unit 47 and at Rosedale Hospice.

Leslie loved her pets. She was dedicated to the many cats and dogs she nurtured over the years. She was an ardent supporter of Heaven Can Wait Animal Rescue Foundation.

A Celebration of Life  gathering for Leslie will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
