Anne Marie Linehan (nee Kirwan)

Obituary of Anne Marie Linehan (nee Kirwan)

September 25, 1946 – Shanahoe, Abbeyleix, Ireland

March 10, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Maureen, of Calgary AB, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2023, at the age of 76 years. Anne Marie Linehan was surrounded by her daughter Deirdre, and son Eamonn; her son-in-law Paul, was also by her side, along with the wonderful staff of the Cambridge Manor.

Growing up with forty shades of green in County Laois, Ireland, Maureen developed a love for music and dancing. Maureen emigrated across the Atlantic Ocean from her home in Shanahoe, Ireland, to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1968.

After completing her Registered Nurse degree in Leytonstone, England, and upon residing in Calgary, Alberta, Maureen began her nursing career at the General Hospital. She then transitioned to the Peter Lougheed Hospital in 1988, until she retired in 2005. She touched thousands of lives on her unit(s), and Maureen devoted her entire life to her children, family, and friends.

Maureen’s adventurist spirit and zest for life took her across the world. When she wasn’t travelling or planning a trip with her best friends, you could find her at peace in her backyard gardening and taking care of her precious roses.

Maureen is survived by her daughter Deirdre and her husband Paul Lush, of Calgary, Alberta; her son Eamonn, and his wife Stacey, and two adored grandchildren, Faolan and Lochlan, also of Calgary, Alberta. Maureen is also survived by her sister Betty and husband Tom Cashin, of Ballacolla, Ireland; brother Liam and wife Vivienne Kirwan, of Abbeyleix, Ireland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Ireland, Canada, and the United States.

Maureen was predeceased by her mother and father Elizabeth and William Kirwan of Shanahoe, Ireland.

“The memories we made and hold on to shall serve as a reminder for how blessed we were to have Maureen in our lives.”

“Dance as if no one is watching, sing as if no one is listening, and live every day as if it were your last.”
