Obituary of Marlene Caroline Nicholson

April 27, 1937 – Edmonton, Alberta

March 13, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Marlene Caroline Nicholson (nee Sagan), of Calgary, AB, passed away after a courageous battle with dementia, on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the age of 85 years.

Marlene was born and raised in Edmonton, AB, and where she married her husband, Stanley. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Calgary, AB, where they brought up their four children. Marlene has been married to her husband for 64 years. They were unfortunately separated due to Marlene’s dementia. She resided in a care home close to her daughter Bonnie, where she was able to care for her mother daily. With frequent visits from her husband and children, Marlene was able to enjoy her remaining time by having many good times and happy experiences. Marlene’s struggle was very present and extremely hard on her, but we are blessed that she is now free from dementia’s horrible hold on her and is in a better place.

Marlene will be sadly missed by her family, which she leaves behind, her loving husband Stanley, and her children, Monte, Bonnie, Dana (Janice), and Kelly (Linda).

Mom, you are so sadly missed, and we all hug you forever in our hearts. You are now getting fitted for your Angel wings, where you can then fly and be forever free. Until we meet again…
