Obituary of Ilene Gizella Dearing

March 22, 1930 – Mundare, Alberta

March 15, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Ilene Dearing (nee Golinowski), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the age of 92 years.

Ilene was very social and liked to volunteer with the Esso Resources Annuitants Club to help plan various functions. She also enjoyed visiting with the neighbours and attending the yearly block parties. She loved being able to help her children in whatever way she could, especially, babysitting her grandkids and grand-fur-babies. She had a great love for animals, which she showed to all of her dogs she had over the years.

She enjoyed being outside in the sun and fresh air, listening to the birds, reading, gardening, and going for long walks. She liked listening to music from Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Tom Jones, and Engleburt.

She will be most remembered for her infectious smile and laugh, and for being crafty and creative, she loved sewing and baking and her cooking was delicious.

Ilene will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Tony, two sons, Gary and Doug; six grandchildren, Shaun of Calgary, Chris (Jody) of Calgary, Cynthia of Invermere, BC, Amanda of Calgary AB, Sam of Kelowna, BC, and Zack of Kelowna, BC; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn of Calgary and Jasper of Airdrie/Calgary; and nephews, Bob (Kelly) and Ron, all of Edmonton, AB; and niece Tracey (Dave) of Delta, BC.

Ilene was predeceased by her daughter Cheryl, her parents, Mary and Tom Golinowski, sister Esther Bayrak and brother-in-law Ed Bayrak, and nephew Trevor Bayrak.
