Obituary of Norma Jean Mackenzie

Norma Mackenzie (nee Stewart), of Calgary, AB, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the age of 69 years.

Norma was born on March 16, 1954, in Edmonton, AB, and was adopted by her mother Freda Stewart. She moved around Alberta for many years, as her father Marvin Stewart worked across the province before settling in Calgary where she started a family of her own and made her home.

Norma is survived by her son Chris (Jen), her daughter MJ (Tanya), son-in-law Kevin, grandchildren, Mathieu, Abigail, and Caleigh. She was predeceased by her parents Freda and Marvin Stewart.

Norma was strong and fierce while managing to be loving and kind all at the same time. She loved her grandchildren more than anything and loved spending time with them. Norma was full of adventure and loved traveling the world. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered for her limitless generosity and kindness.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Norma’s service streamed live (below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos may also be shared and viewed there.
