James “Jim” Dolan of Calgary, AB, passed away on a beautiful blue-sky morning on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the age of 88 years, with family at his side.

Jim was born in Mazenod, SK, on December 2, 1934. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan, before marrying Jeannette Dwyer, and moving to Regina, SK, to start their family. Jim and Jeannette, and two children moved to Calgary, AB, in 1961 and completed their family with the addition of two more children.

Having previously worked as a CA, Jim completed his securities course in 1969 and began a decades long career as a successful stockbroker, manager, and executive (VP Research Midland Walwyn). Jim earned a reputation for conducting his client's business with the highest ethical standard, a trait he endeavored to instill in the team under his leadership.

Jim also gave of himself to a variety of local charities around Calgary, AB, by working in many capacities. His skill set ranged from using his training as a CA to balance books, load up kids from Alberta Childrens Hospital for ice cream runs, to helping to fire rolls of flaming toilet paper down the Stampede midway on behalf of his Kinsmen brothers.

Mostly Jim will be forever remembered and loved for his capacity for love, humour, and dedication to family and friends.

Jim is survived by his two daughters and two sons-in-law, Patti (Ken), Erin (Kevin); two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brent (Lynda), and Regan; five grandchildren, Casey, Jesse, Brandon, Nicolette, and Shayelyn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
