Obituary of Marian Theresa Cotton

It is with great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, that we announce the passing of our kind, brave, and fiercely independent, Mother, Grandmother.

Marian Theresa Cotton was born on September 30, 1943 in St. Boniface, MB, to Marie and Eduard Mahoney of Ireland.

Marian passed away on March 23, 2023 at Agape Hospice following a brief and unfortunately, unsuccessful battle with cancer. She is survived by her son Barry, daughter-in-law Gaetane, daughter Julia, and granddaughter Ashley.

Marian was a kind and thoughtful soul, a fantastic and wonderful mother. She dedicated her formative years to the protection and care of her children, spending many years prioritizing their needs well above her own. Barry and Julia will never forget their mother’s imaginative, clever, and creative playtime with them.

She Loved to read, and do crossword puzzles, and was gifted her musical ability without ever having studied music. Her love for all animals and cats specifically was visible to all. We can imagine her playing on the blissful clouds with her cats that passed before her. She will be missed and remembered by the many people she touched.

Marian, we are happy that you are home now, free, and painless. We will always love and miss you.
