Obituary of Joni Lorraine Viers

Joni Viers, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the age of 26 years.

Joni was born in Lethbridge, AB, on October 22, 1996.

Joni accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her children they were her whole world.

Joni was a ray of sunshine with a huge heart that touched many people's lives. Joni was an avid animal lover no matter how slimy, hairy, stinky, or how many legs they did or didn’t have, she always had one critter or another in her house. She loved drawing, and as a result, expressed her creativity in the numerous tattoos she had. Joni loved her music and could usually be found singing her favourite song Sugar Pie Honey Bunch. Joni was also very particular when it came to her birthday dinner, it had to be spaghetti and meatballs every year.

For the people who knew Joni, she will forever be remembered as Goober, Cheeseball, or Squeaks.

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile, if only I could have you back for a little while then we could sit and talk just like we used to do. You always meant so very much, and always will. The fact that you are no longer here will always cause me pain but you’re forever in my heart until we meet again. Love mom.

Joni is survived and will be sadly missed by her daughter Melody, three sons, Dominic, Dean, and Miles; mother and stepfather Robin and Trevor of Estevan, SK.

Joni is also survived by her brother Hunter of, BC, grandparents Kim and Elvin Viers of, AB; her very special aunt Shelly and uncle Scott, of AB, and her uncle Phil of, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family members.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a private service that will be held at a later date.
