Obituary of Francesco Ardolino
January 23, 1943 – Marigliano, Napoli, Italy
March 25, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta, Canada
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francesco Ardolino on Saturday, March 25th, 2023, at the age of 80.
In Canada, he is survived by his wife, Maria Ardolino (nee Esposito); his children, Brigida, Giuseppina, and Raffaele; his daughter-in-law, Tiffany; his two grandsons, Miller and Everett; and his sister-in-law, Giuseppina LaMontagna. Francesco was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Pasquale LaMontagna and Luigi Ardolino; and sister-in-law, Filomena Ardolino.
In Italy, he is survived by his brothers, Vincenzo, Saverio, and Salvatore; his sisters, Concetta and Annunziata; and sister-in-law, Angelina. Francesco was predeceased by his sisters-in law, Anna and Adela.
Francesco was born in Marigliano, Napoli, Italy on January 23rd, 1943. After 18 months of Army basic training, he immigrated to Calgary, AB in August 1967 to start his new life and married Maria Ardolino (nee Esposito) on November 11, 1967.
In the years that followed, Francesco enjoyed spending time with his children, taking road trips and cultivating his garden.
After spending 40 years working for Consolidated Concrete Pipe and Inland Pipe, Francesco announced his retirement in 2008. He spent his retirement doing the two things he loved the most - gardening and taking care of his grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Monday, April 3rd, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Mausoleum. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
