Let me tell you of Doug Knowles, a kind and gentle bloke

Speak with him a few minutes and he’d tell you a joke

He was from a place called Hamilton, which he liked a lot

But he moved out west, landing in a new spot

In Calgary, on a hope and a wish

He began a life with his bride Trish

At work they cut off his cravate

He took it in stride and donned a cowboy hat

But Doug would smile at the memory

It’s a reason among many, he liked the prairie

Doug, we will miss you so
