Kenneth Leibham, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the age of 82 years.

Ken G. Leibham of Calgary, AB passed away peacefully Tuesday March 28, 2023 at the age of 82 surrounded by his loving children, Dawn Marie (Leibham) Jones, Graham Jones, and Darren Leibham.

Ken was born to Kay and George Leibham on August 24, 1940 in Regina, SK. After moving to Calgary, AB at the age of nine, Ken attended St. Mary’s High School where he would meet his high school “Sweetheart” Carol and eventually be united in marriage in 1961. Soon after in 1964, they would welcome their firstborn Dawn Marie and then son Darren in 1966.

Ken studied accounting after high school and got his first start in the oil and gas industry with Cities Service Petroleum Corp. In 1967, he moved to Texaco where he flourished as a buyer in the “Information Management Division - Acquisitions” until retirement.

Ken had many passions in life, but none more important to him was his family. He was a collector of many things, but his treasured, extensive Texaco collection was his favourite. He had a true love of classic cars, and the pride he took with his own cars was a testimony to that. Ken enjoyed refurbishing antiques and woodworking, and you could often find him outside gardening and caring for his yard. Cheering on his favourite team the Calgary Stampeder’s with his son by his side for decades was his favourite past-time, often singing “Happy Trails” after each home game while leaving the stadium.

Ken is survived by his children, Dawn Marie, Graham and Darren. He is also survived by his brother Glen (Wendy) Leibham, sisters, Lorraine, Janette, Donna along with many treasured nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his loving wife Carol, parents, Kay & George Leibham as well as brothers-in-law James Roth and Allan Montgomery.

Ken will be remembered as the ultimate family man and provider, he held the highest standards as a husband, father, brother and uncle. Ken was the “consummate” Big Brother to his family, forever selfless. Ken was always there to lend a hand, whether it was a home repair, car repair or to offer advice. He was a man who lived his life with “true integrity” and his altruism will always be felt by those who loved and respected him.

Ken’s family will host a “Celebration Of Life” at a later date. Details to follow. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
