Obituary of Doris Mabel Rowell

1933 - 2023

Doris Rowell (Rourke) of Calgary, AB, passed away on March 29, 2023, at the age of 90 years.

Doris was born and raised in Lachine, QC, and married her sweetheart, the boy next door, Clifford Rowell in 1956. In the years that followed, the couple moved across three provinces and welcomed four children, before moving to Calgary in 1969.  

Doris loved spending time with her family, children, and grandchildren. Known for her love of life, laughter, and great big smile, Doris enjoyed being outdoors, skiing, camping, taking in glorious sunrises/sunsets, and enjoying the beauty of each season. Eager to experience life’s adventures, Doris was first in line for white water rafting, roller coasters, and spontaneous road trips.

Doris enjoyed music and swing dancing, filling her home with novel musical instruments, and was always ready for an impromptu dance party in the living room. Professionally, Doris worked as a Dental Assistant, spreading smiles to many patients over the years.

Doris joins her husband, Cliff, who passed in 2009, and will be lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre.
