Obituary of Ralph Barnouw

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Johannes (Ralph) Barnouw of Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the age of 97 years.

Ralph was born in Schiedam, Netherlands on December 22, 1925. He immigrated to Canada in July 1953 and shortly thereafter married Cornelia (nee Vermey) in November 1953. After living most of his life in Montréal, he moved to Calgary in 2001 to be nearer to his family.

Ralph is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Beverley and George, his son Scott, and his grandchildren, Ashley, Lindsey, Graham, and Allison. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Ina; nieces Monique, Manon (Theo), Frieda and Carla; nephew Jacques; and extended family in the Netherlands.

Ralph was predeceased by his wife Cornelia, his mother Roelofje and father Jacob, sisters Cornelia, Adriana, and brother Jacob.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
