Obituary of Teresita Bonifacio

Teresita De Jesus Bonifacio, wife of the Late Gerardo (Gerry) Bonifacio of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the age of 83 years.

Tess was born in Pampanga, Philippines on September 9, 1939. She lived in San Rafael (Dock Island), Guagua, Pampanga. She married Gerardo (Gerry) Sr. on April 17, 1969, and celebrated their 46th anniversary before Gerardo Sr.  passed.

Tess immigrated to Calgary, AB, from the Philippines, on August 15, 1999. She accomplished much through her life, owned her business back home and became a baker at Cinnzeo upon arriving in Calgary. She was particularly proud of her children.

Tess loved doing Crosswords, playing Tetris, Solitaire, going to the casino, watching various shows on TFC and Netflix. Her greatest weaknesses were chocolates, Coke, iced cappuccinos, French vanilla coffee, and calamari. She loved her pasta at Buon Giorno.

Tess’s most memorable vacations were travelling to Baler Quezon, Korea, and Bohol.

Tess is survived by her three daughters, Glenda, Gina and Gemma, and son Jay R; seven grandchildren, Mikee, Kaleigh, Ghieann, Jaden, Abrielle, Rafael and Cassandra. Tess is also survived by her brother Romulo, and sister Ressie both of whom live in Las Vegas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tess was predeceased by her husband Gerardo Sr., her son Gener (Bong) Bonifacio, and parents, brothers, and sisters.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Boulevard S.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
