Obituary of William Francis Duffy
William (Bill) Francis Duffy, the beloved husband of Mary-Al Duffy, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the age of 84 years. Bill is also survived by his beloved daughter, Shaunna Smith (Dan) and cherished grandson, Grayson Smith.
Bill was born to Ambrose & Elizabeth Duffy of Stratford, PEI on Aug 7, 1938. He was predeceased by sister Barbara of Toronto, Ontario. Bill is also lovingly remembered by brothers-in-law, Paul Green (Deb); Lea Green, Tom Green (Mel); Roger (Jenine); sisters-in-law, Georgie Smith (Charlie deceased); Shirley Murphy (Leo deceased); Nancy Bulger (Danny Beaton deceased). Also, special brother-in-law to Gladys Green and Ollie Green. Bill is also survived by dozens of nieces and nephews, friends & extended family who will remember his love forever.
Bill was employed by Greyhound Canada, as a bus driver, where he made many friends and loved going to work for more than 40+ years. He was also a loved and valued member of Corpus Christi Parish. Bill was an avid sports fan (die-hard Flames fan), who got the most pleasure from watching his grandson participate in all his sporting activities.
Bill will be sadly missed, but also happily celebrated. He had a special gift of connecting with everyone he met. His stories captivated people and left everyone with a smile. No one enjoyed a good game of cards more than Bill Duffy! The absence of his quick wit, infectious laugh and smile will be a loss to our conversations.
Bill filled our hearts with his love, he will be missed dearly and remembered forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Pl NW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday April 6, 2023, at 11:00AM. Reception to follow. Condolences, memories, and photos can be shared and viewed here.
