Condolences to the Tilbury families..Marve Critchlow
So sad to hear the news about my cousin Jim. Many, many wonderful memories as a child staying at the old house on the farm in Melita: The old brass beds with the sunken mattresses, duck hunting, sitting around the dinner table watching him and George eat what I considered enormous mountains of food, the "crouch" stance while at the plate playing baseball, the concerns he had about his sports career when getting part of his finger amputated, the stories he shared with us "kids" about his life's experiences, the nicknames he called his siblings..... But most of all his laugh! Oh that laugh. I will always cherish my childhood memories of Jim. My sympathies to Ruby and extended Tilbury family.

Ruby, my thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Take care.
Ruby and Family,
You and the whole family are in my heart and mind, I am deeply saddened by the loss. I have always thought of Jim and your family as part of our family. Some of my best memories and stories that I still talk about to this day included Jim. He was always the life of the party and always made me laugh no matter what. Jim always had a hug for me when ever I saw him and he was never shy to tell us that he loved us. I am honored and blessed to have had Jim in my life and he will be missed dearly.

Aunty Ruby and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Reading the memories that have been shared I can't help but laugh as well as cry as I reflect on my own memories of Uncle Jim doing or saying these exact things! I remember as a child the late night knocks at mom and dad's door, and when the door was answered there would be uncle Jim greeting them with "Put the coffee on!" I remember at times barley awake walking down the hallway to the kitchen table to sit on his knee until mom would say ok it's time to get back to bed. As I grew older and would return home to visit mom and dad, I would look forward to Uncle Jim's phone call to see if I had arrived yet; as well as the multiple visits before I headed back to Kelowna. We will miss his "dirty jokes" (Dan always got a good laugh out of those), his laugh, his smile and the "I love you dear" along with the best and most genuine hugs!
Uncle Jim you will be missed by many.....including me!
Orlene, Dan and kids
"Uncle" Jim was one of the most real people you could meet. He was always good for a laugh and that wry smile. Always made his subtle little comments that always managed to diffuse a situation and bring a smile to your face if you caught on. Always a pleasure to visit him together with Noah. Thoughts and prayers go out to all sides of the family.
With deepest sympathy Ruby, Coral, Jamie and Families! My thoughts and prayers are with u. Take care. Hugs! ♥️ Barb and Sandy Bruce. - Okotoks
His contagious laugh, his big hugs, and always pretending he just cut off his finger to scare my friends :)
We could count on Uncle Jim for entertainment for sure but more than that he was one to always call, drop in, talk to you, offer as many kind words as he did goofy ones and he’d be sure you knew he loved you dearly. Like everyone, his life was full of accomplishments as well as its share of challenges. Through it all he has loved his family deeply and will be missed by many. I’m happy that he will now be with Bill, Barb and his parents once again.
Our deepest condolences to his family at this time. I know however that there will be no doubt of his love and legacy among them.
Our thoughts and Prayers go out to Auntie Ruby and Family of the passing of Uncle Jim we are so saddened. We will all miss him especially when we have a family gathering Uncle Jim was the entertainment you might say ,anybody that new him will know what we are talking about. Uncle Jim worked hard and played hard throughout his life he was the jack of all trades. We got to know Uncle Jim really good when he drove his 18 wheeler for Tilbury Trucking at Melita he would leave in that truck on a Sunday and head out on the road towards Calgary and dump off and be on his way back to Melita to bring back another load and turn around and do that all over two times maybe three a week we were played out just thinking about it we don’t know how he did it he was a great guy. Terry,Norma Jean,Jayden&Brooke Tilbury.
Every memory I have of Uncle Jim makes me smile and warms my heart. Rest easy Uncle Jim and love to Aunti Ruby, Coral, Jamie and their families.
One of my (and my kids) most favourite people in the world. I, will miss your hugs, your smiles, your laughter, that mischievous twinkle in your eyes, and how good you were to my kids. My heart, will miss everything about you. I am grateful for a lifetime of memories. Your niece, Shawnna
The thing that I will forever remember about Uncle Jim is how he was always smiling at the front door and holding it open for you before you even got half way up the sidewalk. I'll miss that big hug and the hearty "How's it going Marsh?" He was truly one of a kind! My heartfelt condolences to his family, you are all in my thoughts at this difficult time.
Jim, also known to me by Uncle Jim, was the best uncle one could have. He always had lots of smiles and many jokes but his biggest trait was that he would go out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for the wonderful memories Uncle Jim. Condolences, prayers and hugs to Ruby and family.
