Obituary of Madeline Matyjanka

Madeline Matyjanka beloved wife of the late John Matyjanka, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023 at the age of 85 years.

Madeline was born on her families homestead in Saskatchewan on October 23, 1937.  She met John in Saskatchewan and they were married June 1, 1957.  They moved to Armstrong, BC where Mom and Dad built their home on a small farm and Dad ran his own mechanics shop until they retired to the Calgary, AB area in 1997.

She loved sewing, baking, cooking, gardening, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband John (July 2021) and is survived by her three sons; Gordon (Carolyn) of Vernon, BC, Ron of Calgary, AB and David (Nicole) of Okotoks, AB as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

As per Madeline's wishes, no funeral service will be held. They will be interned together at Okotoks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Calgary. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Teresa care home during Mom’s final days. Thank you for making her comfortable and taking such great care of her.
