Obituary of Edna Margaret Robson

Edna Robson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the age of 95 years.

She was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. In 1946, Edna (nee Holberton) married Joseph Robson. Edna was gifted with a servant's heart and despite the recession during the 1930s and World War II she was nurtured by her loving parents and developed a “love your neighbour” heart which led her to a life of serving, caring, and sharing. She relentlessly served her family, her church, her lodge, and the communities that she lived in. She was a 70-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles – a non-profit for People Helping People and for 30 years a member of the Forest Lawn United Church.

Edna accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of raising five healthy boys with happy families. She, like her five boys, enjoyed their kitchen and eating skills. She worked most of her life running kitchens and catering. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, nature outings, and being with others. Her humble qualities of caring, loving, nurturing, and service will be missed by many.

Edna is survived by her five sons, John of Edmonton, Bob (Diane) of Calgary, Richard (Shirley) of Calgary, Howard (Maggie) of Bashaw, and Glenn (Darla) of Williams Lake B.C; as well as seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren.
Edna was predeceased by her parents (Elias John and Annie Elizabeth of Lethbridge), husband of 50 years Joseph Robson (1997), and brothers Fred, Ernie, and Syd.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Parkdale United Church, 2919 - 8 Ave NW, Calgary, on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
