Obituary of RuthAnne Scaddan

August 29, 1944 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

April 5, 2023 – Okotoks, Alberta

RuthAnne Scaddan of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the age of 78 years. 

RuthAnn was born and raised in Saskatoon. She attended Teachers College and taught in Saskatoon, where she also met and married Wayne in 1964. RuthAnne and Wayne resided in various cities throughout Canada prior to moving to Calgary in 1975. RuthAnne followed her passion of educating and taught at Mount Royal University for over twenty-five years. RuthAnne and Wayne enjoyed their many travels throughout the world, but mostly enjoyed being at Mara Lake with her grandchildren.

RuthAnne is also survived by two daughters Stacey (Mike) Welch and Erin (Mike) Beattie, four grandchildren Christopher, Liam, Jordan and Brynn, three brothers, Jack (Faye) McCorkell, Jim McCorkell and Keith (Alma) McCorkell and a sister Audrey McCorkell (Ken Halldorson), also several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

RuthAnne was predeceased by her husband Wayne Scaddan on May 1, 2019, a sister-in-law Val McCorkell and her parents Dr. Wilfred and Ruth McCorkell.
