My condolences to Richard's family and friends. Like Richard I was a graduate of the U of M law school but I got to Calgary a few years before he did. I was a defence lawyer and had many dealings with Richard over our careers. He was always fair and ethical in his conduct as a Crown Prosecutor and had a kind, gentle manner. I always enjoyed meeting with him whether it was on a case or not. Rest in Peace Richard.

Very sad to hear of Richard’s passing. He appeared before me for most of his career and exemplified the best qualities of a Crown Prosecutor. A quiet and modest man, he pursued the search for justice with dignity and diligence, and always with a high ethic. Condolences to the family.

I was so very sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. I met him when I joined the Calgary Prosecutors’ Office and we became close friends. He was a kind, considerate and intelligent colleague and friend. I always enjoyed his company. He will be missed by many. Please accept my deepest condolences during these difficult times.

He was one of my favorite human beings - I loved his quirky sense of humor, calm disposition, and fairness with everyone - he talked about the place he loved on Gabriola Island, often and fondly, looking forward to many happy years of retirement there - he deserved more - I am deeply saddened by this enormous loss.

I was a work colleague in the early 80's in the Crown office.My recall of Richard is one of much joy and laughter when noon break and after work allowed. A very likeable and easy going disposition and kindly at all times - a really good man.
