Obituary of Audrey Marie Faulkner

Audrey Faulkner beloved wife of Thomas Faulkner of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the age of 79 years. She was a fierce warrior in the face of cancer, bravely meeting each challenge that arose. We were all inspired by her strength, resilience, and ongoing care and compassion for those around her.

Audrey grew up on a farm outside of Cremona, Alberta. She was the youngest sibling in a line of 6. Days working on the farm were tough but also filled with lots of adventures with her farm animals and favorite horse, Silver. After completing high school, Audrey went on to complete her administrative assistant certification. She worked for many years in the Oil and Gas Sector before retiring in 2007.

Audrey married Thomas in 1970 and together had two children, Leanne (Ken) and Shawn (Jenny). They moved to an acreage outside the city and spent many happy years enjoying the green space and wildlife that frequented the property.

Audrey was incredibly proud of her grandchildren and spoke about how much joy they brought to her life. Four legged friends were never turned away but little Zoe really stole her heart. Audrey really loved her family wholeheartedly.

Audrey was musically inclined and in her earlier years was part of a band. She enjoyed playing the piano. One of her greatest passions however, was walking outdoors. She loved to walk whether it be on her own, with Tom or her walking group. We hope wherever she is that she is walking still and having many great adventures.

Audrey and her family spent many summers at Twin Lakes. There were many laughs with beloved friends and a few wobbly pops lakeside. She also enjoyed our beautiful Rocky Mountains and visiting her son in British Columbia. Her favorite destination was Maui where many beautiful memories were made.

Audrey will be most remembered for her beautiful smile, sense of humour, and selfless nature.

Special thanks go out to those that provided care to her, including Dr Sarah Glaze and team at The Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the staff of Unit 42 at Foothills Medical Centre, and our dear and caring friends who provided love and support to mom and our family.

A private memorial will be held at date yet to be determined.
