Obituary of Harold Michael Hibble

February 13, 1952 – Preston, England

April 16, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Mike Hibble of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the age of 71 years.

Mike was born in Preston, England and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1956. The eldest of three children to Richard Alfred and Maura Anne, he worked in banking for several years, primarily with CIBC. Mike and his wife Catherine raised two children, Jennifer and Andrew. He will be most remembered for his strong dislike of “the out”, and his love of television and talk radio.

Mike is survived by his daughter Jennifer Hibble and partner Ian Kendall of Ottawa, ON; as well as his son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Shannon Hibble of Calgary, AB.

Mike is also survived by his sisters, Anne Roman (John) of Hamilton, ON; and Joan Schaas (John) of St. Thomas, ON.  He will be lovingly remembered by his nephews, nieces, and their families, and by his dear friends Peter and Maggie Meagher and their entire family.

Mike was predeceased by his wife Cathy (1995), as well as his parents Alf (2002) and Maura (1995).

Cremation has taken place, and a private inurnment ceremony with family and friends will occur at the Queen of Peace Cemetery in Aylmer, ON, at a later date.
