Obituary of Alice Beryl Frazer

April 14, 2023 - Edmonton, Alberta

 

Alice Frazer of Edmonton, AB, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the age of 85 years.

 

Beryl was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, where her family had a homestead. During World War II, the family relocated to Vancouver Island, where Beryl's family worked in the logging industry. Alice grew up and attended school in many BC locations, primarily Youbou and Hope where she attended Hope High School. She trained as a teacher and graduated from Vancouver Normal School in 1957 and the University of Calgary in 1978. She was a member of the Alberta Teachers Association and volunteered with various organizations. She was employed with the Calgary Public School Board from 1966-1990. Beryl married Clive Dale Frazer in 1958, and they began to raise their family at various work camps in the resource sector from Coleman, Alberta to Grand Rapids, Manitoba. In 1964, they settled in Calgary, bought a house, and raised their children.

 

Beryl enjoyed hockey, golf, sewing, reading, singing and dancing. She achieved many accomplishments in her life, including becoming a teacher, graduating university, becoming a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her passions were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She took a memorable vacation to New York at the age of 60 years.

 

Beryl will be most remembered for her love for her mother and siblings, her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.

 

Beryl is survived by her two sons, Christopher Brent Frazer and Geoffrey Clive Frazer, her daughter, Danica Dale Minnie Frazer, her six grandchildren, Stephanie Jane Frazer, Sydney Elizabeth Alport (nee Frazer), Sarah Lynn Frazer, Carly Ryan Frazer, Gabriel Shay Frazer Enxuga, and Daniella Dale Frazer Enxuga, her great-grandchildren Penelope Jane Jocelyn Eberth and Liam James Frazer Alport, and her four sisters, Fay Dolores Glennon, Sandra Sharon Clark, Anne Carolyn Bley, and Sheila Lorraine Johnson.

 

Beryl was predeceased by her parents, Alice Lorraine (Knutson) Clark and Ivan (Sandy) Lindsay Clark, her husband Clive Dale Frazer, her brothers, Ivan Grant Clark, Clayton Lindsay Clark, Leroy Denton Clark, and her pet dogs, Sandy, Mandy, and Jenny.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Beryl’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
