Obituary of James Gordon Couch

October 24, 1961 - April 18, 2023

James “Gord” Gordon Couch of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.

Gord was predeceased by his father Roderick Gordon Couch, mother Helen Marie Couch, and sister Selena Marjorie Couch. Gord is survived by his sister Heather Marie Brown, children, Jess and Laura Brown, Dylan and Shannon Brown; brothers, David Warren Couch, child Amy and Eric Jones, and Robert Douglas Couch his wife Arlene, and children Alandra and Caleb Couch; as well as many cousins and friends.

Gord is fondly remembered as a kind and gentle man. His life journey included many motorcycle trips across the country, to Sturgis and on plenty of other rides. He grew up golfing at Silver Springs Golf & Country Club and carried that passion to many other courses, events, and tournaments with family and friends. The RMHS (Rocky Mountain Horror Show was one he supported many times through it’s 30 years held annually in Rocky Mountain House). His love for Curling was unmatched and endured throughout his entire life. As was his desire to be in a tent camping with his nieces and nephews, teaching them the essentials of the outdoors. As a final act of kindness, Gord had donated his organs for the life saving possibilities of others along with anything that could be used for the betterment of science. Gord was as giving in death as he was in life.

Services will be held in Calgary in July 2023, date to be later determined. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
