Obituary of Joanne Suk-Wah Tse

February 13, 1954 – Hong Kong

April 15, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Dr. Joanne Tse of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the age of 69 years.

Born in Hong Kong, Joanne spent most of her formative years in Hong Kong before relocating to Canada. Joanne graduated from the University of Calgary with her Bachelor of Social Work, and then completed medical school at U of C. Joanne completed her family medicine residency at McGill University from 1987 to 1989 and emergency medicine at the Foothills General Hospital from 1991 to 1992 before starting her private practice in Calgary.

Joanne accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her two sons, her medical expertise, and helping her patients.

Joanne enjoyed singing, dancing and karaoke, watching movies and television shows, and playing Mah Jong. She was interested in Chinese culture and history, often passing along her knowledge to others.

She will be most remembered for her dedication to her practice, her patients, and her love for her family.

Joanne is survived by her two sons, Elliott and Dante; her siblings, Eddie, Maria, and Luke; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Joanne was predeceased by her parents, Chun Kwong Tse and Lan Ying Ng; and her older sister Shuk King Tse; and her older brother.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
