Condolences
I was heartbroken to hear that Ron is no longer with us. He was such an amazing person, kind, generous, intelligent, a man who helped so many newcomers to Canada…He was the reason that my family and I have a new homeland to be proud of. I worked for Flint Canada Moscow office, and in 1997 I filled in a pre approval form for immigration to Canada and got rejected. It was so devastating. I mentioned to Ron what happened, when he was in Moscow, and the very next day he brought an official application form from the Canadian Consulate and said what was wrong in my first application. We got accepted and came to Canada in January 11, 1998. We celebrate it every year. My first job in Canada was with Flint Canada. And I am not the only Ron helped over the years, there are many of us. It is hard to imagine that we will not see him again cracking jokes, laughing and being so comfortable in his skin ..
Gay, Kelly, Tyler & Ryan… my deepest condolences to you all. Words cannot express how my heart is heavy for you during this time. Svetlana and I are so regretful that we won’t be able to attend Ron’s Celebration of Life because we both are out of country, but Alex will. Ron will be in our hearts forever.
To the Shannon Family, please accept my sincere condolences on Ron's passing. I vividly remember meeting Ron in 1979 on my first day with Flint when he took the time to welcome me to the Company. That courtesy made such an impression on me and was repeated in many ways over the ensuing years. He was indeed an extraordinary man!
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend Ron's service today due to a conflicting family event but I will be thinking of him.

Working with Ron over the last 9 years has been a blessing. My relationship with Ron became a friendship. In my working career, Ron was one of the kindest people I had the pleasure to meet. I will miss you Ron, rest in peace. I will raise a glass of cheer in your honor! To the Shannon family I am sending my deepest condolences. Love and hugs Caroline Noseworthy

Dear Gay,
I am sending my condolences for the loss of your Ron.
It has been a very long time since the Oilmen's, where we first met.
The Shannon's made a lovely couple.
Ron's contribution to the Oil and Gas Industry is impressive, as well as your mutual generosity for many philanthropic causes.
Your sons have a strong and honourable example in their father.
Regards,
Andrea McArthur
