Condolences
Every day begins with a 'K" as Pete would say. You were my sister in law; but really you were the sister I never had. You welcomed me into the family and we shared some great times. You showed me how you were a fighter and had the strength to do anything. I admire you for how you handled the struggles you went thru and am so sorry that you had to suffer so. I most enjoyed the family time and playing games. When it was you and me; you always won at Batttleship; even when you had chemo brain. You are greatly missed and loved by many. I will never forget you; nor the good and bad times. As daybreak comes, and the birds are out, I will think of you and your love of birds. I will never forget you. Now soar with the birds and know that you were greatly loved and missed. Karen Wilson
I first met Kathy sometime in the early 2000’s. Her husband Pete and I have worked together for the past 20+ years and I’ve had the honour of being a friend to them both. My wife Sue and I have fond memories of vacations, trips to see our mutual friends (The Bascom’s) and all the good times we shared. We will miss Kathy dearly and especially I’ll miss making her my famous Caesars that we both enjoyed in Florida just a few years back. Kathy was a good, kind hearted and joyful person. She loved the important things in life like her family. I’m sure she’ll be looking in on them from time to time. Kathy was strong. Last time I visited was in October 2022 when I came to Calgary. I had a wonderful time with her and Pete and I’m so thankful that I did. Kathy was in high spirits which was very inspirational for me. I’ll never forget Kathy Wilson. She’ll live on in our hearts forever.
Kind, quiet, strong. I know you are my friend, but I am proud to say you are my sister-inlaw. Fly, be free. I wish you God’s grace and I know you are at peace.
My dearest friend Kathy,
You were the 1st to welcome us moving to Alberta with living across from one another. Our houses were inseparable while the kids ran back and forth all day and sometimes at night.
From tagging along and cleaning with you, or the girls in brownies and going to bingo. I swear you had horse shoes at bingo...I always wished it would rub off on me...lol!
I will miss you dearly my friend and our no bullshit talks and chuckles over the years and during this shit ride you were on. In Findland one would say you have SISU, strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity. Sisu is not momentary courage, but the ability to sustain that courage. This my dear Kathy you had along with your big heart. I will miss you!
Rest in peace and may your wings soar!
Love you
